With the advent of information technology, learners demand high-quality flexible learning environments supported by well-designed resources. A mix of traditional and new learning approaches and technology can be appropriately utilized for developing flexible e‑learning. Instructional Design is the critical skill one must have for designing flexible e‑learning.

McWeadon’s E-Learning Workshops prepare students with a knowledge and experience in creating and producing a variety of online materials appropriate for an e-learning  approach to teaching and training.

We offer four E-Learning Workshops which are
designed with core issues of the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) instructional design process.

Workshops are delivered in a highly interactive in-person learning environment.  Currently we are offering in-person workshops in major US and international cities. Contact us to schedule a workshop in your location.  International workshops must have a minimum of 20 participants.

WORKSHOP BENEFITS 
This one day hands-on workshop provides utilization of the popular Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation (ADDIE) Model providing skills to develop e-learning materials that are SCORM, IMS, and 508 compliant.  This is a fast-paced, structured workshop that uses a proven methodology known as the E-Learning Framework that guides you through the accomplishment of the workshop goals.

 
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
This workshop is valuable for anyone who would like to learn more about planning, managing, and/or developing e-learning instructional materials.  It is an excellent workshop for beginners, as well, as experienced individuals as there is something to be learned at all levels. 


 YOU WILL LEARN TO

  1. Plan for an E-Learning course in compliance with SCORM and Section 508
  2. Write clear objectives and test questions
  3. Design a unit of instruction using instruction design principles, strategies, and models
  4. Select the appropriate development and graphic tools
  5. Develop the unit of instruction using industry standard tools including Web 2.0  technologies

Ed.D., Pensylvania State University, USA

 

Dr. Mauri Collins earned her Ed. D. from The Pennsylvania State University, with major in Adult Education, a minor in Instructional Systems, and a certificate in the Study of Distance Education, studying with Dr. Michael Moore. She also earned a BA and an MA in Sociology, from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. University of Nevada Las Vegas, 1987. The title of her dissertation is "Invisible adult educators: Online public discussion group moderators'perceptions of their roles task and responsibilities." Dr. Marie (Mauri) Collins has 15 years experience in faculty development and support, and is currently serving as an Instructional Designer and online faculty development specialist at the Office of Distance Education, University of Nevada Las Vegas. In this capacity Dr. Collins works with faculty preparing to teach online.

Dr. David Ealy
Ed.D., West Virginia University, USA

 

Dr. Ealy holds a Doctor of Education in Technology Education from West Virginia University, a Master’s degree in Safety Management from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Wheeling Jesuit University. Dr. Ealy has built an open-source SCORM-certified learning management system (LMS) that was purchased by DaimlerChrsyler and lead the design, development and implementation effort of an enterprise-level SCORM-conformant learning content management (LCMS) which is currently being used at DaimlerChrysler. Dr. Ealy is currently working for his own company, David Ealy Technologies, and has recently worked on training and/or elearning projects for IBM, VW, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), The Department of Homeland Security, Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services, Department of State and the U.S. Courts. Dr. Ealy taught graduate level courses at The George Washington University

Dr. Alice Bedard-Voorhees
M.A., Arizona State University, Ph.D., Capella University, USA

 

Dr. Alice Bedard-Voorhees received a B.A. in American Studies from Moorhead State University (MN), an M.A. in English (Creative Writing) from Arizona State University, and a Ph.D. in Distance Education from Capella University. Dr. Alice Bedard-Voorhees has served the development of instruction and assessment of learning at Western Governors University and Colorado Community Colleges Online. Her most recent writing collaboration examines the pedagogy and Web 2.0 tools . She is working to develop learning exploration through a Second Life Colorado Mountain College condo and currently applying Badrul Khan’s Flexible Learning Model to the Second Life learning environment.

Dr. Andrea Henne
M.A., Ed.D. University of California, Los Angeles, USA

 

Andrea Henne is the Dean of Online and Distributed Learning at the San Diego Community College District, which currently enrolls over 10,000 students each semester in online courses (http://www.sdccdonline.net). Dr. Henne has extensive experience at the community college and university levels in creating accessible online learning environments that meet best practices in technology-based teaching, faculty development, student learning outcomes, and quality standards. Prior to working for the San Diego Community College District, Dr. Henne was the Systemwide Director of Distributed Learning at Alliant International University, developing and managing online, video-conferenced web-conferenced, and blended courses and faculty development across six California campuses, Mexico City and Japan. She has been a full-time instructor of Computer Business Technology at Los Angeles City College and San Diego Mesa College and an online instructor in Instructional Technology at National University and in Economics as well as Critical Thinking and Problem Solving at DeVry Online. Educated at UCLA in Higher Education Leadership (doctorate) and Business-Economic Education (masters), Dr. Henne is a frequent presenter at conferences, workshops, and webinars on best practices in technology-based teaching, faculty development, online student motivation and retention, and online course quality standards.

Dr. Badrul Khan
Ph.D., Indiana University, USA

 

Dr. Khan holds a Ph.D. in Instructional Systems Technology and Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from Indiana University, Bloomington. Dr. Khan served as the founder of the Educational Technology Leadership program at The George Washington University (GWU) and the Educational Technology graduate program at the University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB). He also served as an instructional developer and evaluation specialist for the Indiana University (IU) School of Medicine. Professor Khan taught instructional technology courses at GWU, UTB and IU. He is an internationally recognized authority on e-learning and educational technology.

Dr. Kelee Plagis
Ph.D., George Mason University, USA

 

Dr. Plagis holds a Ph.D. in Education, a Masters in Individualized Studies, and Bachelor of Arts in Speech Mass Communication from George Mason University. Professor Plagis developed and taught traditional and distance learning courses in the Educational Technology Leadership program at The George Washington University (GWU) and at Education and Communication Departments at George Mason University. Dr. Plagis has work experience, at the executive level of several corporations, in the areas of Distance Learning, Instructional Design, Computer Based Training, Interactive Multimedia Instruction/Production, e-learning, electronic performance support, organizational strategic decision making, and decision modeling. Dr. Plagis has developed award winning multimedia computer-based training. She advises industry and governments on instructional design, distance learning, and ADL initiatives.Development.

Dr. Keysha Gamor
Ph.D. George Mason University, USA

 

Keysha I. Gamor earned her Doctorate in Education with a concentration in Instructional Systems Design and Organizational Learning from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA. Dr. Gamor, is an Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) & Research Scientist at the Advanced Distributed Learning Initiative (ADL) for the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Dr. Gamor has more than 15 years of experience in teaching, instructional design, web design, as well as research and development for education and training technologies. Dr. Gamor began her professional career as a Professor of English Composition and Literature at Montgomery College, where she designed and piloted their distance learning program. She has performed ISD consultative services in the private sector, supporting civilian, military, and corporate clients. Dr. Gamor is recognized as a thought leader in her field and has served as a judge for several, nationally recognized industry awards programs.
